The Canadian Collaborative for Engagement & Conflict Management (CECM or CECM Canada) was created to provide practical and pragmatic conflict management training and skills building for those who are seeking a clearer path to professional development and accreditation, and access to specialized professional services.

CECM also offers ADR system design, including stakeholder, shareholder and community engagement as well as conflict management and issue resolution services.

Led by Director Richard Moore, CECM provides a unique training and skills building opportunity by bringing together scholar practitioners to provide the full spectrum of engagement and conflict management theoretical and practical knowledge. 

CECM recognizes that the development of robust learning opportunities, that focus on engagement and conflict management skills building is critical given not only the shift in societal needs and responses to conflict that have emerged in the last two decades, but also in recognition of the fact that today, conflicts are inherently more complex than ever before. Our primary mandate is to equip the next generation of practitioners in meeting their future challenges, to assist the existing generation in retaining and sharpening their skills and abilities, and to provide effective and practical solutions to all conflict management needs.

CECM is comprised of an alliance of professional practitioners, all with extensive experience in specific topic areas (condominium  mediation, online mediation, policing, stakeholders, shareholder and community engagement and environmental multi-party dispute resolution) who are available to provide professional services to clients seeking assistance with relationship building and engagement as well as the effective management of conflicts.

CECM offers a full suite of conflict management services including investigation/fact finding, facilitation, mediation, arbitration and neutral third-party services.

To complement to our workshops and service offerings, CECM is pleased to publish a peer-reviewed journal, known as the Journal of the Canadian Collaborative for Engagement and Conflict Management (JCECM or JCECM Canada) as a symbol of our commitment to deep thinking around contemporary issues in the field of conflict engagement, management and resolution.
